Cory/Calib Grant
This week we have a real treat. We are featuring 2 brothers, Cody and Calib. Each have their own distinct swings. Dan recognizes this and gives each their own drills to work on to improve their game.
CODY - 10 years old
Cody has a popular problem that affects a lot of juniors. Due to the lack of strength, he tends to pick up the club on his backswing. This changes his spine angle and his shoulder tilt. Now, he must adjust the club back into position to create a straight ball flight. Energy is wasted in this move which could have been used when striking the golf ball. It also affects the timing of his swing. Placing a club across his arms to produce the proper tilt can correct this error.

Calib has a very severe inside backswing. This creates a flat swing plane and
an extra amount of wrist motion. We worked on a more upward plane for his
backswing. The club will feel lighter in this positon. More force will be
applied onto the golf ball. He must begin his backswing with his shoulders
instead of his hands. The shoulder should push the arms and club back. Timing
of the shoulder rotation, arm swing, and wrist hinge is the KEY to golf.
CALIB - 7 years old
