DOWN LOADING YOUR PICTURES TO YOUR HARD DRIVE
I bet there is a million ways to down load your pictures to your hard drive. It will also depend if you have Vista or XP as your operating system. I just assisted a customer with down loading to Vista and found that it creates a folder for you to put the pictures in. It names the folder the date. I suppose that is ok as long as you know where the folder is and the name of the folder. If you are using XP like me, then you have to create a folder either in my documents for my pictures. Now that you have the first step done:
1.Create a folder in my documents or my pictures. Make sure you know what the name of the folder is and where it is.
2.Every camera will come with a USB cord or extension that plugs the small end into the camera and the bigger end into the computer.
3.Open the camera to on and the wizard will walk you through the procedure in choosing the pictures you wish to down load and where you want these pictures.
4.The first tricky part comes when they want you to name the file. Well I always name it the same as the name of the folder. Ie… wayne’s pictures florida and then it will ask you to put the pictures in that folder so you have to browse to where your folder is.
5.That’s it usually clicking next takes care of the work and you can either delete the pictures you have down loaded or keep them in your camera.
Again the only difference I found with Vista is that it created its own folder and called it the date that I am downloading such as today’s date 4-17-09 Pictures. It automatically put this folder in my pictures. Quite easy. Good luck! If you can’t get this I would be happy to walk you through this procedure a couple of times and you will be the next pro on the block.
